Christmascard inspired by Lanefoot farm, Thornthwaite, Lake District. We've camped with our tent for 2 weeks there.

This is intense. Do you plan it out before you start drawing? or do you just start and see where it takes you?

If it's not a sketch, then most of my work has a lot of planning. This one is based on several photo's I've made
of the farm and the background. First I make several composition-sketches (for example, it started with a standing image, and gradually I added more of the farm and it bcame a square). After that I copy the sketch on a xeroxmachine at the right size and take it over on, in this case, watercolor paper and finish it in pencil. And than scanning and coloring in photoshop...
